Since the early 90's Lucy & Jorge Orta have been collaborating on projects that act as trigger mechanisms for reflexion and action.
The exhibition organised by the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa provides a forum for the two artists to develop a new research focus, this time the general scarity of this natural resource and the issues surrounding the privatization and corporate control effecting access to clean water for All. Starting from a rigorous analysis of this crucial issue and elaborating it poetically, the team will produce a series of 'Mobile Intervention Units' evoking the cycle of collect and distribution of water, and installations incorporating symbolic water filtration and purification system to purify the Grand Canal into drinking water to be distributed in bottles....
