Hartmut Urban
25.04.2007 - 25.06.2007
Austrian Cultural Forum London, London / United Kingdom
The artist Hartmut Urban moved to Graz when a new, young cultural scene had begun to develop there, and he soon played a vital part in that process. He mainly worked in painting and drawing, but always challenged the boundaries of these techniques. He was deeply inspired by landscape, in the broadest sense of that theme. His works often deal with pattern and structures, such as the cityscape of New York in his early works or, in a later series, the design of a tax form that he took apart and assembled it again in large-sized aluminium panels.... The exhibition will be opend in conjunction with the reading by Alfred Kolleritsch.
